Letter from Founder- Pat Murphy
Dear Friends,
I've spent more than forty years coaching young people.
People often assume baseball has been my life's work. The truth is, baseball has simply been the classroom. The real work has always been helping young people discover who they are capable of becoming. Over the years I've coached thousands of athletes. Some reached the major leagues. Most didn't. But hopefully every one of them left with something far more valuable than a batting average or a championship ring. They learned about integrity, accountability, perseverance, humility, compassion, and what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves. Those lessons don't belong only on a baseball field. They belong in every classroom, every home, every neighborhood, and every community. That belief is why PTM Programs for Youth exists.
Our mission is not only about creating better baseball players. It has always been about creating better people.
Every child deserves someone who believes in them before they've accomplished anything.
Someone who teaches them that failure isn't final.
Someone who expects excellence because they care enough to demand it.
Someone who reminds them that character isn't built during life's easy moments—it is forged through adversity, service, discipline, and love.
At PTM, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to grow in all aspects of life. Through mentorship, education, athletics, mental wellness, community service, and compassionate support, we are helping young people build confidence, discover purpose, and develop the character that will guide them for the rest of their lives.
The greatest investment we can make is not in buildings or equipment.
It's in people.
One child encouraged.
One family supported.
One life changed.
Those moments ripple outward into stronger schools, stronger neighborhoods, and stronger communities.
None of this happens alone.
Every mentor who gives their time, every volunteer who serves, every family who believes in our mission, and every donor who chooses to invest in the next generation becomes part of this story.
Together, we're doing more than supporting programs.
We're building leaders.
We're strengthening families.
We're creating opportunities.
And we're changing lives.
